Preparations

Before I get started I want to let people know something in case they didnt know. At the very bottom of the page, there is something that says "older posts". You can click on this to go back to the beginning of my blog in case you ever miss some entries. Also, sorry about being so lazy to update, there has just been so much going on here, sometimes i can hardly find the time. Seeing about my papers, getting things ready for the marriage, getting invitations sent out. So for those of you who do not know, I am getting married on the 14th of January. Only about 2 weeks away! Seems like such a short time. Of course I am really nervous, but I feel I am ready. I have been studying all I can about how to be a good husband, and It won't always be easy, i know. But what in life worth doing was ever easy? I have finally found that special someone who loves me for who I am, no matter what flaws I have. To be honest, I have never considered myself attractive, and I have many problems, but If she loves me anyway, who am I to argue? Life is a journey, and I finally have a traveling companion... :)  And I know important it is to keep Jah in our marraige, so that needs to be a priority. So much stuff to do, so little time!

I know it's not the best for my waist, but it sure was tasty!

This is a Paraguayan coconut. But I'm not sure why people call it that, because it does not look or even taste like a coconut. It has a caramel flavor, and I still don't think it's really a coconut :P

Pati

A HUGE ant, or "Ormiga" in Spanish. A word about the ants here. Not only are these things gigantic, but when they bite, the pain is EXCRUCIATING. and these are small compared to the ants in Brazil. They have Ants there over an inch long, and if you fall in a hole with lots of ants, they will strip all the flesh off your bones in a matter of hours. Not a very fun way to go.... A fun fact: There are tribes in the Amazon that, as an initiation ritual, will strap a bunch of these ants, head first, into a pair of gloves. The young men of the village then has to wear them for at least ten minutes to become an adult. I hear the bite is more then 30 times worse then a wasp sting, and the venom is so potent it makes your hands swell up huge for hours. Aren't you glad you don't have to go through that? :)

Eating at the Mall, And A Visit

The other Day we sent to visit some Friends of Kitties, Nelson and Diana. They were Extremely nice, I really enjoyed meeting them.  They have an ADORABLE little boy named Matteo(Matthew in Spanish). We had some nice conversations, and since my spanish is getting better, i could even kind of talk wioth them. I didnt understand everything, but i would say i understand maybe 30% of what is said now. I can understand better then I can speak, but my speaking ability is improving too...It is kind of nice though, I finally feel like I am not so much of an outsider. Kind of more like I belong here.

Matteo(Isn't he adorable?)

Later that night we went with Kittie's mom to eat out at the mall. It was really nice. They have all kinds of different foods there. Italian, Chinese, Lebanese, Brazilian, Paraguayan, Chinese, and German. Plus they had live Paraguayan music.

Yum!

A Graduation

So on Wednesday, I went with Kitty to a graduation ceremony for the high school kids she teaches. Was kind of strange, going to a graduation ceremony for people I've never met, or probably will ever meet, but hey, I guess it's something to do. It was kind of nice, I guess. They sung some Italian opera at the beginning, which was good, but WAAAAY too loud. Then the valedictorian gave his speech(which was REALLY short), and they gave diplomas out to everyone and medals to a couple of the overacheivers. And apparently, some people didnt even show up to get their diplomas, which I find hard to  believe, but whatever, its their loss... After the Graduation, we went to a place called "Chicken's Bar", which sells like sandwiches, empanadas, and whatnot. But instead of selling Chicken(Pollo), they sell Rooster(Gallo). Not sure what the difference is as far as eating them goes.... Anyway, we had a very nice time.
